Lunar Eclipse
The Moon in the Earth's Shadow
There will be a total lunar eclipse during the pre-sunrise hours of March 3rd that will be visible from any place on Earth where the Moon will be visible. But how much of the eclipse will be visible is determined by times - where the Moon will be above the horizon as the eclipse progresses. For those living in approximately the eastern half of the United States the Moon will be above the southwestern horizon and setting as the eclipse comes to an end.
The Hermit Eclipse web site is an excellent resource for local eclipse viewing and event times.
This video is based on viewing from my location near Kansas City Missouri.
